CROP Walk 2023April 2, 2023 SUNDAY IS THE DAY! It's happening this weekend. Don't forget about the pizza party happening after our worship service on Sunday before the walk starts. Durham's Congregation in Action is hosting its annual CROP Walk on April 2. Registration starts at 1:30 pm, and the walk starts at 2:30 pm day of. If you haven't done so yet, there's still time to make a pledge to support your favorite team: Carolina, Duke, State, and NCCU. The team who collects the most money will be celebrated with a pizza party in the fellowship hall including decorations in the colors of the winning team. Everyone is invited to participate in the pizza party, on Palm Sunday, April 2 directly following the worship service in the Fellowship Hall. Reach out to Angela Fountain if you are: interested in purchasing a CROP Walk t-shirt for $5, or interested in getting together after church to "train" leading up to the Walk. Lent StudyCancelled for Palm Sunday In observance of Palm Sunday, April 2nd, we will not be meeting for our Lent Study in the book of Luke on Sunday morning. If you would like to join Session 5 of the Lent Study on Monday, April 3rd at the parsonage at 6:30 pm, please email the office. Join us for the Palm Processional that morning before worship service as we join with neighboring churches, 1st Presbyterian and St. Philip's Episcopal. Easter LiliesIn Memory Of / In Honor Of THIS SUNDAY is the last day for sponsoring lilies. If you would like to sponsor one of the lilies In Honor / In Memory of a loved one for $20, there will be forms for you to fill out at the Welcome Table just outside of the sanctuary starting this Sunday through Palm Sunday, April 2nd. Free Brass ConcertThe Northern Lights Duo - Wednesday, April 19, 2023 We have a wonderful opportunity coming up in April to hear from some talented musicians. Mark your calendars for April 19th, and come enjoy the musical stylings of The Northern Lights Duo! The Northern Lights Duo is an international collaboration between Bente Illevold (Norway) and Dr. David Earll (USA) formed in 2018. The duo has become one of the most active international tuba and euphonium duos in the world and has commissioned music from Rune Rebne, Ludvig Elblaus, Evis Sammoutis, and Marcus Paus. Their tours have included performances throughout the United States, Norway, Germany, and Spain. The Northern Lights Duo is dedicated to showcasing vibrant, engaging, and entertaining music for the euphonium and tuba to new audiences and to serve as educational/musical ambassadors for music enthusiasts and students around the world. This duo is a unique chamber ensemble that strives to highlight the existing repertoire for their instrumentation, to adapt and showcase the traditional music of their transatlantic homelands, and commission new and innovative music that pushes the boundaries and possibilities of the tuba and euphonium together. We invite you to join us for this special event on Wednesday, April 19th at 7 pm. You won't regret it! |

2023 Bull RingTrinity Ringers Come out to support our own handbell group, the Trinity Ringers, as they participate in the 2023 Bull Ring, along with around 100 other handbell ringers from the area. The Handbell group, Music Made in Heaven is hosting a massed handbell ensemble to ring the National Anthem when the Durham Bulls play the Memphis Redbirds. Saturday, April 29, 2023 - The performance will be at 6:20 pm - (6:35 pm game) Where: Durham Bulls Athletic Park, 409 Blackwell St., Durham, NC 27701 Come support our ringers and stay for the great baseball game! |
