Join us for the Third Sunday of Easter as we continue our sermon series, Building Blocks: Stories of the early church, and how they teach us the fundamentals of faith. This week, we will be talking about recognizing Jesus through the story of those who encountered him after his resurrection. We will be streaming online at trinitydurham.org or YouTube. The Scripture readings will be from Psalm 116:1-4, 12-19; Luke 24:13-35, and 1 Peter 1:17-23. We hope you will join us!

Pastor Tobi will be teaching for the next several weeks until we break for summer on the Building Blocks of the Faith.

Next Sunday, April 30th, Eastway Elementary Administrators: Dr. Jackline Teel, Principal and Ms. Genee Murray Maddox, School Social Worker will join us in worship on Sunday, April 30. Dr. Teel will speak briefly about Trinity UMC’s partnership with Eastway Elmentary. We hope that you will make a point to join us for worship and celebrate this important partnership.

Trinity’s Congregations for Children (C4C) is happy to announce our final mission project for the 2022-2023 academic year. Our Kindergarten Book Bag Mission Project will help rising kindergarten students who will enroll in Eastway Elementary over the coming weeks. We will collect new book bags, small enough for kindergarteners and without rollers, as well as the school supplies to fill them. It is our hope that every kindergarten student will have the supplies needed to get off to a good start in school this fall.

Collection Sundays for the project will be April 30-May 21.  We will collect book bags and hope to put the following specific supplies in each bag:

(3) Student folders with pockets & prongs for notebook paper

(1) Notebook paper (approx. 100 sheets, wide ruled)

(6) #2 Ticonderoga pencils

(1) Crayola large crayons (approx. 8 crayons per box)

(1) Elmer’s school glue stick

(1) pencil/crayon pouch or box

(1) small bottle of hand sanitizer

No one needs to fill a book bag completely! Bring what you feel led to bring, and as always, it will work out to the glory of God! If you prefer for C4C members to shop for you, please mail a check to Trinity, and be sure to put C4C on the memo line.

Come out to support our own handbell group, the Trinity Ringers, as they participate in the 2023 Bull Ring, along with around 100 other handbell ringers from the area. 

The Handbell group, Music Made in Heaven is hosting a massed handbell ensemble to ring the National Anthem when the Durham Bulls play the Memphis Redbirds. 

Saturday, April 29, 2023 - The performance will be at 6:20 pm - (6:35 pm game)

Come support our ringers and stay for the great baseball game!

It's happening this weekend!

Grab a church friend and volunteer at Central Park on April 23rd after church - they want help with kids' activities and roving "ambassadors." Or just come and enjoy -- Music and food trucks. 

Beginning April 16 we will be shifting away from weekly communion for a season. If you would like to be a part of providing this sacrament on Sunday mornings, contact Merle Richey for information about the Altar Guild.
