To TUMC,
The Reopening Task Force has remained thoughtful and diligent about the best ways to keep our congregation healthy and safe during the pandemic. We have listened to and followed the local and state Public Health Dept(PHD) recommendations and applied them to our Trinity environment. We have cared for each other, our families, and our neighbors. We have followed the example of the Good Shepherd who protects their flock.
Now as the pandemic is coming under control, we must ‘learn to live’ with Covid in the background. We will continue to follow PHD recommendations and are making masking OPTIONAL at this time. We encourage anyone who feels more comfortable, to continue wearing a mask according to your own needs. (Please continue to wash hands and/or use hand sanitizer frequently as it is still Flu season!) If a new variant emerges, we may have to change plans again, but for now we agree it is the right time to ease restrictions.
We applaud the many sacrifices our congregation has made these past 2 years and encourage you that they were worth it! We have had no illnesses we know of, connected directly to exposure or gatherings at our church, a HUGE BLESSING! We offer unending thanks to everyone, staff, congregation, and members of the task force for your prayers, time, and the sacrifices that made all the difference in keeping our congregation healthy. TUMC is doing its part to end this awful pandemic. Praise God!
Peace and health,
Karen Westervelt
